Recent activity at Balsam Pillow Studio includes blues artist John Henry Cullins who has been tracking a four song EP produced by drummer Carl Powell with an assist from myself and bassist Matt Pruett.  These are some truly smoking and groove oriented blues tunes... I’m helping out with Fender Rhodes and B3 organ.  Also on board is slide guitarist Caleb McConnel.   Mixes are currently in progress.  Visit the John Henry Cullins myspace page for more info and to listen to his music.

Recording for the 2009 - 2010 concert season for the Asheville Community Band continues with remote recording at Asheville High School Auditorium and Moore Auditorium at Mars Hill College.  Additional remote recording engagements include the 20 piece french horn choir CornoCopia at St. Mathias Church in Asheville, and the Signature Winds woodwind quintet.

Mastering work has been completed for Ugandan recording artist Winston Mukasa, who will soon be releasing his debut CD called “Rise Project”.  This CD was recorded and mixed in Uganda.  I met Winston when he was in the USA last summer touring with the African Children’s Choir, and was offered the opportunity to master this fine project.  Mastering work was also completed for an ambient project by Charles Soloway, a Florida based artist who has written meditation music featuring the sonorities of a custom made bell.  Multi-instrumentalist Richard Brookens produced and recorded this project.

Songwriter Craig Summers has been in recording an original tune for a fund raising campaign by Haywood County Hospice Association.  Also recording at Balsam Pillow is pianist Martha Mason's solo piano CD, as well as demo work for classical and opera singer Anne Page.
