A dark and foreboding piece, this dramatic song evokes imagery of what is going to happen according to the prophet Zechariah on the day Christ returns to rule. There will be no light, no frost, no cold... and on that day, the Lord will be "king over the whole earth." This song was initially an improvisation that was embellished with orchestral and textural elements. The melody was added later, using a fretless bass keyboard sound.
